It has always been a goal of mine to perfect my day. It is a constant challenge to give my first fruits to the Lord, seek to build the Kingdom, maintain my possessions, excel at my job, keep healthy, build new skills, and yet not be overburdened and legalistic, or forget God in the day after giving Him the first fruits. But we must all pursue and fulfill the call of God in our life, and it starts in our daily life. The Bible teaches us to number our days (Psalm 90:12). Every moment counts. Follow the burdens in your heart, obey His promptings, go the extra mile, and you will not delay your journey.
Overcome the constant, nagging desire not to want to do anything during the day. Fatigue, laziness, apathy, stubbornness, and complacency must be overcome in your life. I prayed for many years for God to take away my fatigue, and He never did. I had to make a conscious choice to not grow weary or tired in the day, and He helped me in that. Don't always take advantage of God's grace to relax, say no, or put off to do's, as that usually leads to time slipping by and missed opportunities. Even in seasons of waiting, look for ways to get ahead and maintain. I have seen a pattern among the most Godly....depression (due to the intense warfare and lack of support) that leads to laziness and loss of imagination, and taking advantage of God's mercy and grace which can lead to apathy and loss of the spirit of excellence, and highly spiritual people can be hard to get to do anything. As the Bible says, a sluggard is wiser in his own eyes than seven men who can answer sensibly (Proverbs 26:16). Therefore much time is wasted. Watch your heart at all times, and keeping active helps you not sink into a funk. Take care of what you need to take care of in the day, and do extra. Always go the extra mile for Jesus.
Below are the my life pillars:
- Spiritual and Kingdom Building; attend Church weekly, bible reading and devotions 3x daily, evangelize, help and hospitality, ministering, tithing, giving, studying the Bible, fasting, and Scripture memory.
- Friends and family; contact each family member at least 1x week, contact at least 1 friend a day.
- Health and Fitness; fitness 3x daily, hit all food categories in the day - protein, greens, fruit, grain, hydrate 3x a day, vitamins daily.
- Work and Recruiting; excelling at my primary job, developing and maintaining side hustles.
- Skills and research; develop other skills (language, music, dancing, reading, athletics, construction skills, mechanical skills, technology and innovation, science, weapons training, self defense, security and protection, military tactics, survival, first aid) and research about those topics.
- Maintenance: take care of possessions (house, car, get rid of old/unused items, etc.)
- Sharing (blog and social media).
- Recording and journaling (checklists, summary logs, detail logs, journaling).
Not much free time or chill time is needed. I would rather grind and walk along the narrow path and live in the uncomfortable yet see consistent fruit, increase, and success, rather than live in craving and desire but be subject to the mundane, dry, and barren and see limited results.
God requires much in the day. He not only requires total efficiency, but also excellence in everything you do.
